ABOUT Open Farms
Open Farms is designed to educate the public about agricultural practices and history in Windsor Essex. It’s a great way for families to learn about farm life connecting them directly with food producers. Our farmers are dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of food quality and care for all animals. Animal welfare is more than a business concern – it’s a way of life providing adequate space, proper nutrition, medical care, and humane treatment.
Agritourism is an important connector between urban and rural Ontario and it is a great way to support local food, connect with our land and learn about where our food comes from. For farmers, it offers new market opportunities, revenue streams and ways to grow understanding of modern farming and food production.
